PRIVACY AND COOKIES POLICY


Strateos, Inc. ("Strateos") is a biotechnology company providing robotic solutions for biology labs and as part of its business operates strateos.com and transcriptic.com, as well as autoprotocol.org, and may provide an option to access third party websites to which Strateos maintains no control. It is Strateos's policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect while operating our websites. By using Strateos's services, you consent to our use of your information in accordance with this Privacy and Cookies Policy. We will not use or share your personal information with anyone except as described below.

COLLECTION AND USE OF YOUR INFORMATION


Like most website operators, Strateos collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Strateos's purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how Strateos's visitors use its website.
Strateos also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged in users and for users leaving comments on Strateos.com or transcriptic.com blogs/sites; for visitors that sign up at Strateos.com or transcriptic.com, user names and email addresses are collected; and for those that engage with the Strateos platform and use of Strateos’s services, additional information is collected including physical addresses, other personal and financial information as is necessary to deliver Strateos services (collectively, “Personal Data”). Strateos only discloses logged in user and commenter IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses Personal Data as further described below, except that commenter IP addresses are visible and disclosed to the administrators of the blog/site where the comment was left.

We generally use Personal Data: to deliver and improve our services; to manage your account and provide you with client support; to perform research and analysis about your use of our services; to provide information about the services we offer that may be useful to you, to send notifications we may think are helpful to your business, to improve your user experience, our website or virtual applications and/or analytics; to diagnose or address technology complaints; to verify your identify and prevent unauthorized or illegal activity; to enforce or exercise any rights and responsibilities further outlined in our terms of service, found at:  https://blog.strateos.com/strateos-terms-and-conditions/.

GATHERING OF PERSONAL DATA

Certain visitors to Strateos's websites choose to interact with Strateos in ways that require Strateos to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that Strateos gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, we ask visitors who sign up at Strateos.com or transcriptic.com to provide a personal name and email address. Those who engage in transactions with Strateos are asked to provide additional information, including as necessary the personal and financial information required to process those transactions. In each case, Strateos collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor's interaction with Strateos. Strateos does not disclose Personal Data other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply Personal Data, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.

AGGREGATED STATISTICS

Strateos may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its websites. Strateos may display this information publicly or provide it to others on an anonymized basis.
We may also collect, use and share "Aggregated Data" in, for example, reports on trends in the usage of its website or for any purpose. Aggregated Data may be derived from your Personal Data, but once in aggregated form it will not constitute personally-identifiable data for the purposes of the GDPR as this data does not directly or indirectly reveal your identity. However, if we combine or connect Aggregated Data with your Personal Data so that it can directly or indirectly identify you, we treat the combined data as Personal Data which will be used in accordance with this Privacy and Cookies Policy. However, Strateos does not disclose Personal Data other than as described in this policy.

THIRD PARTY ACCESS AND PROTECTION OF PERSONALLY-IDENTIFYING INFORMATION

Strateos may disclose Personal Data only to those of its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on Strateos's behalf for purposes of providing services available via Strateos's websites, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those employees, contractors and affiliated organizations may be located outside of your home country; by using Strateos's websites, you consent to the transfer of such information to them.

Strateos will not rent or sell your Personal Data to anyone. Other than to its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations, as described above, Strateos may disclose your Personal Data only in response to a subpoena, court order or other governmental request, or when Strateos believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of Strateos, third parties or the public at large.

CONTROL OF YOUR INFORMATION


If you have signed up to receive marketing information from Strateos, you have the right at any time to change what types of information you receive or to stop receiving any information completely at any time using the relevant link in the marketing emails or by contacting us.. You will only begin receiving marketing information if you have explicitly opted-in.


If you are a registered user of a Strateos website and have supplied your email address, Strateos may occasionally send you an email to tell you about new features, keep you up to date with what's going on with Strateos and our products or solicit your feedback.  If you send us a request (for example via email or via one of our feedback mechanisms), we reserve the right to use the information you provide it in order to help us clarify or respond to your requests or for quality assurance or to help inform us in ways we may support other users; in the latter two cases, without employing your personally-identifying information.


Strateos takes all commercially diligent measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information. Even if you are a user of our services, we will not send marketing information unless you have explicitly opted-in in advance of use.

WE USE COOKIES

BUSINESS TRANSFERS


If Strateos, or substantially all of its assets, were acquired, or in the unlikely event that Strateos goes out of business or enters bankruptcy, user information would be one of the assets that is transferred or acquired by a third party. The length of time for which we retain information depends on the purposes for which we collected and use it and/or as required to comply with applicable laws. Where there are technical limitations that prevent deletion or anonymization, we safeguard personal data and limit active use of it.

ADS


Ads appearing on any of our websites may be delivered to users by advertising partners, who may set cookies. These cookies allow the ad server to recognize your computer each time they send you an online advertisement to compile information about you or others who use your computer. This information allows ad networks to, among other things, deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of most interest to you. This Privacy and Cookies Policy covers the use of cookies by Strateos and does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers.

PRIVACY AND COOKIES POLICY CHANGES


Although most changes are likely to be minor, Strateos may change its Privacy and Cookies Policy from time to time, and in Strateos's sole discretion. Strateos encourages visitors to frequently check this page for any changes to its Privacy and Cookies Policy. If you have a Strateos.com or transcriptic.com account, you might also receive an alert informing you of these changes. Nor do we collect any information about criminal convictions and offenses.
